The Big House, as it is referred to, has been a ongoing restoration project for the last many years. It sits on 2 acres overlooking the Hudson River and the Newburgh Beacon Bridge. The house and grounds have gorgeous views from most of the rooms, porches and lawn. It is and has been a fabulous gathering space for family, community and events. The house is within walking distance of Newburgh’s waterfront and downtown historic district and shops / restaurants.
Enjoy lounging by the pool, barbecuing, taking in the view, to hiking, kayaking, shopping, farm visits or restaurant hopping, there is no lack of activities or R&R.
The Hudson Valley has unlimited amenities within driving distance, walking distance and right in the back yard. The Town and City of Newburgh’s blooming downtown has a wide variety of food / dining options, music, art, antique, home decor and clothing shops to name a few.
The Newburgh waterfront offers even more opportunities for dining, strolling along the water, people watching, music and water sports. Nearby Beacon is either a short 5 minute drive or a scenic walk / bike over the bridge (with the entrance to the bridge path just steps from the driveway). There is also a ferry which can take you across the Hudson to our sister city.
We are at the intersection of Route 87 and 84, with many smaller regional connectors which can easily get you to other great Hudson Valley towns, farms, wineries, hiking and shopping. Stewart International Airport is about a 10-15 minute drive from the house offering the ultimate access. Regionally, we are a short drive to West Point Military Academy and only 60 miles to NYC.
The garage and basement will be locked, but the laundry room in the basement will be accessible.
